Privacy Policy

Nudge (the "Service", "we", "our") is a Chrome extension that helps you send one-click reminder emails to attendees of your Google Meet calls. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it. Plain English. No legal smoke.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you provide via Google sign-in

When you connect your Google account, Nudge requests permission to:

• Send emails on your behalf (gmail.send) — used only to send the reminder and follow-up emails you trigger by clicking buttons in the extension.
• Read your calendar events (calendar.readonly) — used to identify attendees of the Google Meet you're currently in.
• Access your basic profile (userinfo.email) — used to identify your account, display your email in settings, and use it as the sender of emails you send.

We do not read the content of your inbox, access emails you did not send through Nudge, or scan messages of any kind.

1.2 Information you enter in the extension

Inside the Nudge extension's settings, you may optionally provide:

• Your display name (used as a sign-off in emails)
• Your Calendly or booking link (included in no-show follow-up emails)
• Custom email templates and subject lines (Pro feature)
• An hourly rate (used by the Meeting Cost Calculator)

This information is stored in Chrome's chrome.storage.sync — which means it's stored in your Google account and synced across your devices. We do not have access to this data on our servers.

1.3 Information collected automatically

Nudge logs the following events to help us improve the product:

• Extension installed
• Google account connected
• Nudge or no-show email sent (count only — not contents or recipients)
• Subscription tier changed
• Free-trial usage limit reached
• Promo code redeemed (code name and granted tier only)

These events are sent to Loops.so, our email-automation provider, along with your email address. They are used solely for customer lifecycle communications (welcome emails, usage tips, upgrade prompts). You can opt out at any time by emailing support@nudgereminder.co.

1.4 Payment information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details — Stripe handles all payment data in compliance with PCI-DSS Level 1. We retain only your customer ID, subscription tier, and billing email, used to manage your subscription.

2. How we use your information

We use the information described above only to:

• Operate the Nudge extension and send the reminder emails you initiate
• Maintain your subscription and grant access to paid features
• Send you transactional emails (payment receipts, account changes)
• Send lifecycle and product-update emails (which you can unsubscribe from at any time)
• Diagnose bugs and improve the product

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or train AI models on it.

3. Data we do not collect

For clarity, Nudge does not:

• Read, record, or transcribe the audio or video of your Google Meet calls
• Read emails in your Gmail inbox other than verifying we can send
• Store the content of any reminder emails you send (only a count for usage limits)
• Track which websites you visit outside of Google Meet
• Collect data about meeting attendees beyond what's necessary to send the email (their name and email from the calendar invite)

4. Third-party services & data sharing

Nudge relies on the third-party service providers below to operate. We share data with them only as necessary to provide the Service, and each is governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google — your Gmail and Google Calendar data is accessed and transmitted only through Google's own APIs, to send the reminders you trigger and read your meeting's attendee list (policy)
• Stripe — if you subscribe, your email address and payment details are shared with Stripe to process payment (policy)
• Loops.so — your email address and product-usage events (counts only, never email contents or recipients) are shared with Loops to send lifecycle and product emails (policy)
• Render — our backend is hosted on Render; for paid users it stores only your email address and Stripe customer ID, used to validate your subscription (policy)

4.1 Sharing, transfer & disclosure of Google user data

The only piece of Google user data that Nudge shares, transfers, or discloses to any third party is your email address (obtained when you sign in with Google), and only with the providers listed above for the stated purposes — Stripe (payment), Loops.so (lifecycle email), and Render (subscription validation).

We do not share, transfer, or disclose any other Google user data to anyone. Specifically, we never transmit your Gmail message content, your Google Calendar events, or your meeting attendees' names and email addresses to Stripe, Loops, Render, or any other third party. That data is processed in real time on your device and through Google's own APIs only, and is never stored on our servers.

We do not sell, rent, or lease your Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

Nudge's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can:

• Disconnect your Google account at any time from the Nudge settings — this revokes our access tokens and clears stored email data
• Uninstall the extension — this removes all locally stored data from Chrome
• Cancel your subscription from Stripe or by emailing us — your tier reverts to Free Trial
• Request full deletion of your account and data by emailing support@nudgereminder.co — we will delete all stored records within 30 days

6. Security

We follow industry-standard practices to protect your data:

• All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Google OAuth tokens are stored only in your browser, never on our servers
• Our backend is hosted on Render with restricted access
• Stripe handles all payment processing with PCI-DSS Level 1 compliance

No system is 100% secure. If we ever become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you within 72 hours.

7. Children's privacy

Nudge is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. International users

Nudge is operated from Australia. By using Nudge, you consent to your data being transferred to and processed in Australia and the United States (where Render and Loops are hosted). We comply with applicable privacy regulations including GDPR and Australian Privacy Principles.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top, and for material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-extension notice. Continued use of Nudge after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
