Troubleshooting, common questions, and tips for getting the most out of Nudge.
Three steps, takes about a minute:
That's it. Next time you join a Google Meet, the Nudge panel appears in the bottom-right corner automatically.
Yes — and we know it looks scary. Here's what's happening and what to do.
Why you see the warning: Google requires all apps that access Gmail/Calendar to go through a "verification" process. For brand-new apps like Nudge, this takes Google several weeks to complete. Until they finish, Google shows this warning to every new user.
What to do to continue installing:
Is it actually safe? Yes. The "unsafe" wording is Google's generic message for any unverified app — it doesn't mean Nudge does anything dangerous. We've published our full privacy policy detailing exactly what we access (and what we don't — no recording, no inbox reading, no AI training). We're actively in the verification queue with Google, and the warning will disappear once they complete review.
If you're still uncomfortable, you can wait until verification is complete — feel free to email support@nudgereminder.co and we'll let you know when it's done.
If the Connect Google button shows "Connecting…" for more than 30 seconds without anything happening, here's the most likely fix:

Two different scenarios, two different emails:
Both are one-click. Both are sent from your Gmail with your name as sender. The recipient sees a normal personal email — not a tool.
The free trial includes 5 actions per month, combined across nudges and no-show follow-ups. The counter resets the 1st of each calendar month.
When you hit the limit, both buttons are disabled until either the next month rolls over or you upgrade to a paid plan.
Yes — Auto-Nudge is a Pro feature. Set a timer (e.g. 3 minutes), and if an attendee hasn't joined after that long, the nudge sends itself automatically. You stay focused on running the meeting.
Enable it in Nudge settings → General tab → Auto-nudge after X min.
Yes — Pre-Check Reminders (Pro feature) automatically email attendees before every Google Meet. You can set up to two reminders (e.g. 1 day before + 1 hour before).
Users who enable pre-check reminders see up to 40% fewer no-shows.
This is rare but can happen if Google Meet renders attendee names in a way Nudge's detection doesn't recognize. We're constantly improving this — recent versions wait at least 60 seconds before declaring "all joined" and require multiple consecutive confirmations.

Usually a name-matching issue. Common causes:
contact@acme.com but they show up as "Sarah Chen" in the Meet.Workaround: open Meet's People panel (icon in bottom-right of Meet). Nudge re-checks every few seconds and should pick them up.
Yes — custom templates are available on Starter and Pro plans. Open Nudge settings → Templates tab to edit:
{{firstName}}, {{meetLink}}, {{senderName}}, {{calendlyLink}} are automatically replaced when sentLive preview updates as you type so you can see exactly what recipients will see.
Your name. Specifically: the name you set in Nudge settings → General tab → "Your name". This is what shows up in the recipient's inbox.
If you don't set one, Nudge uses the display name from your Google account.
The email itself is sent from your real Gmail address (the one you connected). To recipients, it looks like a normal personal email — not an automated tool.
Free and Starter plans include a small footer crediting Nudge. It's intentionally minimal — just one line at the bottom.
If you'd prefer to remove it, that option is coming to Pro plans soon. Reach out at support@nudgereminder.co if this is a blocker for you.
Click the Nudge icon in your Chrome toolbar → Settings → Pricing tab. Choose a plan, click Get Pro or Get Starter, and complete checkout via Stripe.
Annual plans save 20% — that's roughly 2 months free per year.
Two ways:
After cancellation, your account stays on the paid tier until the end of your billing period, then reverts to Free Trial.
Open the Nudge popup → Settings → General tab → scroll to the Promo code section. Enter the code and click Redeem.
Promo codes are case-insensitive. Redeeming a new code replaces any active code on your account.
No. Never. Nudge has zero access to meeting audio, video, screen sharing, or chat. It only knows:
That's the entire scope. No recordings, no AI summaries, no surveillance.
Most of it stays on your device:
